Posting from a browser.

November 26, 2005

Yes, the title sounds weird, but keep reading and you will know why …

I’m using a new browser called Flock to get this post to my blog, is firefox-based and is oriented to social web applications and Web2.0, is currently under developement and available only for testing.

Two facts that caught my attention where that

  1. The integration of online tools is really amazing, and
  2. It requires broadband access.

So, who cares, who doesn’t have broadband access these days … well, the sad answer is: the vast majority of the online world.

This makes me think on the excelent web2.0 apps and the hype that the social web is generating, we may be going a little elitists wile creting exciting new apps that run great on our high speed Internet connections but … they wont be truly social apps since they’re not available for everyone.

So Flock’s motto: “it should be easy for everyone to contribute to and participate on the web.” and the Web2.0 principles should be paying good atention to the Internet access issues before creating a huge and amazing new “democratic” web that will only be used by few lucky humans.

Hello, everyone !!!

I have another blog which I like to call my “Official Blog”, is oriented to everything related to the interaction of the society with technology towards the future.

I’ll try to post here often but I run many things on my life, projects jobs and the sort. I guess I’ll be posting at least on a weekly basis.

So stay tunned and leave some comments.
